Thanks frans for the interesting link.
Indeed I have thought more than once, that Killing Me Softly With Her Song would have been an ideal song for Bing, if he lived longer. In my head I heard an vital arrangement by Pete Moore and Bing´s bariton/bass- perhaps with a singing group at the background.
This AI-version is not liveless enough, too slow, and Bing´s singing sounds too much monotone, missing the melodic and the vibrance. The arrangement should have more tempo and more variety. Pete Moore would have had the sensibility to record the song, cut especially for Bing´s voice and personality- I´m sure.

Actually many discussions running, if voices should generated with AI (Artificial Intelligence), for example also from dead singers and actors? For myself i´m no a supporter of such things. It feels for me like playing Frankenstein.
But I´m interested, whether there are other opininions on this board, people which can imagine, that new material of Bing-songs were "recorded"?
Everybody knows, that Bings voice changed through the decades of his lifetime, for example the wonderful high tones of the early 30th, his voice of the 40th or the deepness of the late 50th, or the remakable voice of his last years (at his best recordings). With AI you could select a period of Bing, in which you wishes to hear special songs with Bing and add an arrangement, for example in a nostalgic way, in a Nelson Riddle way or in a total modern present way. You can maybe create old Bing recordings in another new arrangement and Bing in top of his voice. You can join together Bing with different duet partners, like the Beatles or Elvis, singing with Bing Blue Hawaii. All types of songs would be- thanks AI- possible, although material, which was composed after Bings death. The "new" Bing as rapper. Sometimes i´m thinking Bings voice for a rapsong would be optimal because of his melodic sound of his speaking voice. All the songs some wished, that Bing would have recorded officially, but never sung or only in radio or TV,partly in short snips( like Moonriver, I Left My Heart In San Francisco, And I Love Her, Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head).
I missed something, but I have thankfully so much masses of fine matererial of Bing! As I said before, I don´t like Bing in an artificial way. But could AI make Bing fit and actual for future generations, for a second carrier?
Some plan even films with AI. Bing and Bob with a very young Dottie in the canceled The Road to a Youth Fountain? So far I know, most of you are very sceptical about this last film project, which was stopped because of Bings deat

1997 a 4CD-box distributet by Collectors Choice Music V DISC- A Musical Contribution By Americas Best- Bing Crosby. The box contains 71 tracks. Sadly no detailed information about the tracks. Most of the tracks are from KMH and Philco-radio shows recorded, partly with Bings introducing words. Some of the tracks seemed curious to me, if they are really taken from V-discs. You can read the informative article by Wayne Martin on the link of Steven Lewis´Bing Crosby Internet Museum on top of this Crosby Fan World page, then go to recordings, and then to V -discs.There you can find also a list of all known recordings. This CD-set is now (with all his mistakes) highpriced. I made a look at Amazon and found 4 sets on offer. The price ranged between 450 and 550 € (about 480- 590 $).
A very fine and tremondous work to find practically every titel Bing had sung is "Bing Crosby- A Songography" by Frans W. van der Kolff. It seemed to be the most complete book about Bings songs, listet all official recordings, all radio, TV and concert material with all of Bings medleys, all known private recordings. For example van der Kolff listed  3 pages of White Christmas and 13 pages of Where The Blue Of The Night, every time Bing sang it on the beginning of his shows. And you can find out, on what date Bing introduced his show not singing, but whistling. But will ever be a book about Bing complete? "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" is registered only once (TV-version from Cooling It), the 1971 Argentine version is missing.- Also I missing Bing´s dayly shower-songs.
Today there are 46 years gone, as I was shocked- coming home from school- by my sister telling  me that Bing Crosby died in Madrid. But the songs, shows, films of Bing lives for me as long as I will live (on my collection of shellacs, vinyl, CD and DVD). It makes me only sad, that Bing was today- especially in Germany- nearly unknown and unplayed. Even on Christmastime the only song the German Radio  plays is the duet w

The man on the right side of Bing must be the Austrian Karl Carsony, who was a famous acrobat with his twin brothers (both commit suicide in 1964). There exist at least one other photo made on this meeting. You can look at it on a YouTube video, search: Karl Carsony 2004 W.A.S. Legend (Professional Acrobatics). This photo shows only Bing, Carsony, Harris and Dodd. Doddy´s Here Again programm started on June 2, 1967 with Karl Carsony, The Goofers (direct from Las Vegas), Rosemary Squires, The Fabulous Bluebell Girls.
At the moment is an exhibition on National Museums Liverpool about Ken Dodd (until March 3, 2024).
Search on Google: RIP: Ken Dodd 90 facts about the legendary comedian (www.chortle.co.uk).
Fact 37: He also holds the record largest comedy season at the London Palladium- with a  mammoth 42 weeks
Fact 38. At the time he hold jokes to Bob Hope and sang songs to Bing Crosby, who where in the audience.
There seems to be no more connections between Ken and Bing?
On YouTube you can find a docu "The Carsony Brothers E.V.".  with all the great stars and entertainer from Jerry Louis, Dean Martin, Liberace to Sammy Davis. The Bing Crosby photo was also showed  (39.25) and old Tom Terry was interviewed (45.20). The single Karl Carsony was three years member of The Goofers.

Don´t know, if I correct?
Should I be right, Tommy Terry (1924- 2019) was the bassist and one of the singers of "The Goofers"- acrobatic comedians. The musicians were in early times part of Louis Prima. Since about 1953 to 1960 The Goofers make their own way, recorded some titles, were guest on a lot of TV-shows and other appearences with such stars as Woody Hermann, Judy Garland, The Mills Brothers and Phil Harris (Toast of Town, Jackie Gleason Show, Perry Como Show, a.o.). Look at www.thegoofers.com .On this side are a collection of photos from the fifties.
Perhaps these informations will help.

Hello! If you search Bing´s late recordings (1975 - 1977), don´t forget the not UA recordings. The finest LP on Decca Label was Feels Good, Feels Right, 12 official takes + 3 unissued Takes (later on a 2LP set: That Old Black Magic, I´m Getting Sentimantal Over You, At Last ). The 12 track album was released by Vocalion on CD. Bings Last album Season was recorded for Philipp, is now available on CD by collector´choice Music with bonus tracks, including his final BBC radio recordings four days before his death in Spain (+ 3 poem readings, 1977). For the London (Decca) label he recorded 1975 A Southern Memoir  and Bingo Viejo, first with bonus tracks on CD. The British and the US LP- version of Bingo Viejo are mixed differently.  With Philipps label Bing planed a contract (6  or 8 LPs, e.g. a duett album with Bob Hope on late Octobre 1977, a LP with Noel Coward songs, and a teamwork with violinist Joe Venuti, died mid 1978). On Decca label and the same on Ktel you can listen to Bing´s Palladium concert (1976), 2 LP. EMI published a (shortened) CD from this concert. Philipps released after Bing´s death the 2LP Songs of a Lifetime, orchestratet titles (Pete Moore Orchestra, produced by Ken Barnes) from Bing´s radio shows. Some of them unorchastrated you can find on wonderfull Mosaic set. The 2LP with additional titles and some new mixes were available on 3 single CDs by a Swiss label. ARGO released Bing Crosby Reads Tom Sawyer, 3LP (1975). For the Concorde Jazz label (Rosemary Clooney´s late home label) Bing recorded 1977 only one fine jazzy title Don´t Get Around Much Any More (Scott Hamilton, tenor sax, Bill Berry, trumpet, Monty Budwig, bass, Jake Hanna, drums): A Tribute To Duke (Ellington). This title with Buddy Cole from 1957 is on CD Bing Sings the Great American Songbook (collector´ choice, but not on Mosaic set!). The 1977 version was used in the film Tough Guys wit

Yes, it´s the 1963 TV special with Buddy Ebsen, The Young Americans and Andre Previn. Certainly one of Bing´s best and most aesthetics TV shows (others are e.g. Cooling It from 1970).
Valente and Bing sung together a fine "Language of Love" medley and they duetting in various languages (Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Yiddish, French, German and I believe "Never On Sunday" in Greece). Valente have had an international carreer, beginning in Germany, but made shows and concerts in USA (12 times with Perry Como, Danny Kaye, Sammy Davis, Dean Martin, some with Carroll Burnett, long time Las Vegas, a.o.), Italy, Spain, France, Netherlands, Japan and she ever sung songs in the language of the guest country. Valente speaks (and sings) 6 or 7 languages perfectly.
1965 she appeared the second time with Bing on Hollywood Palace with a medley of 5 songs taken from the Fancy Meeting You album.

Remembering Bing Crosby´s Merrie Olde Christmas show- Bing´s last Christmas show in 1977. Bing searching in his genealogy and made therefore a trip to Britain with his family to meet his relative Sir Percival Crosby (played by Ron "Dickens" Moody). Remember also Sir Percival´s distinctive butler "Leslie Townes" Hudson (Stanley Baxter). Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, which Twiggy duetting with Bing is such wonderful, that I repeat this part of show once or twice everytime I´m watching this Christmas special. Twiggy was phantastic. Before the show Twiggy was known to me only as model by the yellow press.

Bing in literature.
Bing is mentioned in the play "The Assembled Parties" by Richard Greenberg. I let follow a short quote (and hope not to break against copyright?)

[...]
JULIE: Graduation, I cried and cried; touching so touching, all of you- so witty, so oblique, so overeducated, so utterly ignorant of absolutely everything.
(Beat)
JEFF: I guess.
JULIE: It´s so lovely Christmas. Though you find that all the dying tends to accelerate around now. And of cours there´s Bing Crosby.
JEFF: Bing Crosby?
JULIE: He´s a tribulation, don´t you find? And you can´t escape him! To the optimo Cigar Store for a five-cent stamp and he´s dreaming of a White Christmas. It´s like a tiny acoustic rape every time you leave the appartment. But other than Bing Crosby and all that dying, it´s a lovely, lovely season.
JEFF: Yes.
(He chops.)
Is someone dying?
[...]

I´m own Greenberg´s play as 2 Audio-CDs by L.A. Theatre Works. Funny moments! About the play:
It´s Christmas 1980, and inside a sprawling Upper West Side appartment, Faye Bascov is about to throw an opulent Christmas dinner- a tradition for this secular. well-educated Jewish family. But any family gathering is an invitation for old resentments to boil over, as Faye´s sister-in-law Julie and the extended family have plenty to hash out. Flash-forward to 2000, and the appartment now much shabbier, reflects how the family´s fortunes have changed, and the Brascovs now have to reckon with the legacy of their family discord. Hello Malcolm, I will email you a complete translation of the 4 pages of Valente´s book "Bonjour Katrin!" , issued 1985 (in my unperfect English- sorry!), probably next week.
Caterina Valente lives today in Switzerland and celebrated on January, 14. her 88th birthday and didn´t work since many years in showbiz. Mrs. Valente stayed ever a follower of Bing (as Udo Jürgens, who is dead now) and never forget him. In every TV memories (as on 80th birthday) she rememered on their common appearances and short clips were shown.
Also Udo Jürgens (Griechischer Wein/ Come Share The Wine) mentioned in nearly every interview on TV or papers and in his autobiography, that Bing sung one of his greatest hits. And- I belive it was Jürgens´ 80th birthday TV honor- he told about that and then the complete 4 min. recording of Bing was played on TV, illustrated with some photos of old Bing and the concentrated listening audience, because Bing never sung this song live. As the record ended the whole audience stand up and applauded one minuite (or more?) and Mr. Jürgens have had a glance in his eyes. I think, I have told this story earlier on board? Maybe Bing would have sung this song in German concerts, because he seems to make in any way compliments to every country or town, on which he appeared.
Back to Mrs. Valente´s book. An excerpt from the beginning of the chapter:
Mister C.  In Hollywood I have had made a very beautiful show with Bing Crosby, one of the greatest singer of showbusiness. He was the man, who have made us the last nasty days of war tolerable. We tried ever to listen the British broadcasts, and because he sung there frequently, we have heard Bing Crosby and have learned to love him.
Everyman can imagine my delight, as I heard, that just Bing Crosby wished me for a TV special. Bing didn´t made regular shows, but only one every year. It was something like a personality show, on which I should dance, sing, play guitar  and make sketches.

So far I know "Le Bing" was Bing´s first studio LP (10 inch) in 1953, all other LPs before were samplers. La Mer I likes very much although Charles Trenet´s versions are  more emotional.
And then follows the mammuth project "Bing- A Musical Autobiography" (five 12 inch LPs), that was a mixture between sampler and new recordings (with Buddy Cole) and the talkings of Bing between the tracks.
The Buddy Cole recordings for "Some Fine Old Chestnuts" were made, too, in1953. Don´t know exactly, if this LP issued before the Autobiography or later?

The recording dates with Bob Hope were fixed some days after Bing´s return from Madrid in October 1977. Would have every singer a solo as on the Astaire/ Crosby Album? (Perhaps Bob singing The Grand Old Man of Music, which Bob sung at the Pasadena concert?)
Bing have had a lot of plans at the end of his life: many more concerts all around the world: Australia, Japan and perhaps even Germany, filming Road picture Nr.8 with Bob Hope in 1978 (not every Crosby fan thinks, that this would ever been a good idea), Bing´s first live appearance in German TV on early December in Saturday prime time show (Rudi Carrell), a German TV special with Caterina Valente was signed(C. V. writes about that and her two US TV-shows in one of her two autobiographies in an own chapter "Mr. C.", 4pages), Margret Dünser, who interviewed Bing, has made plans with Bing about a TV special (Bing should have sung before the scenery of various European cities some of his great hits), and, and...??? And Bing signed with Polydor, that published his last studio album Seasons, a contract about 7 albums and the reserve of 7 further albums.
Tremendous plans! The orchestration of the Buddy Cole radio takes by Pete More were planed in 1978. Because  of Bing´s death this project was realized in 1979.
I´m not sure how successful the Noel Coward album would have been internationally? Coward certainly extremely popular with his witty songs and plays (Brief Encounter, Private Lives,...) in Britain. Bing, Kathrin and Rosemary Clooney even sung a Coward medley during their last concert tour (Mad Dogs and Englishmen, London Pride, Someday I´ll find you, a.o.)
Beside the planned Venuti album I have had wished Rosemary and Bing would have done a new duet album. Clooney has started 1976 again for a second time a wonderful comeback, which lasted until the end of her life. She recorded some of her finest albums, mostly for the Concord label.

No fear, here´s a sleeper!
Only some words to Joe Venuti. Chiribribin and Yodelin´n Jive was accompanied by the Joe Venuti Orchestra and the Andrews Sisters. Later recordings in 1947 are Ain´t Doin´ Bad Doin´ Nothin´ and Ida I Do.
And Venuti was a regular guest on Bing radio shows. Some extraordinary collaborations from these shows are Chattanoogie Shoe Shine Boy (I like the live version more than the studio version), natuarally My Honey´s Lovin´ Arms (accompanied with Satchmo, Teagarden, Toni Arden and not to forget Nick Fatool, Bing almost forget to name him), I Got Rhythm (+ Peggy Lee, Red Nichols, Ziggy Elman), Lady Be Good (with a wilde instrumental struggle between Joe´s violin and Tommy Dorsey´s trombone, and not to forget the drums of Nick Fatool).
On the Sandy Hook LP Hot Swing Fiddler are 14 instrumentals collected with Joe and the John Scott Trotter Orchestra take from the Bing´s General Electric Shows from 52/ 53. Bing didn´t sing, but heard chatting with Joe before the musical numbers. That´s very funny and every time begins with "Is this the place?" "Yes, indeed, this is the place"....
Bing and Ken Barnes planned an album with Joe Venuti, dated about summer 1978. Ken searched a guitar player, something in the way of Eddie Lang. I wished they could have done these LP. Joe was in the 70th again on the peak of his art, after the late 50th and 60th were one of his "bader" period, recorded some fine records.
Joe died on August, 14, 1978. Since late July he was serious ill (cancer).
Sometimes I thought about possible songs, I have liked to hear from this teamwork. What songs Bing, Joe and Ken would have chosen? Some remakes (Please, Dinah, My Honey´s Lovin Arms) or Lady Be Good (certainly one of Joe´s favourite songs he recorded with various artists about about all decades)?
This unrecorded album is certainly my pet album which Bing and Ken planned on the end of Bing´s carreer.

Since November, 13 a newly recorded  2CD set is on market, called WEIHNACHTEN by German singer Helene Fischer. On first CD are German christmas songs, on second CD English christmas classics recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. On the last one are duets with Placido Domingo, Ricky Martin, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby.
I couldn´t listen to a full version of the Helene Fischer/ Bing Crosby duet, only 30 seconds, which listen interesting. I´m personally no fan by Helene Fischer, but she is one of the megastars in Germany, many times in hitparades, with topselling CDs, succesfull concert tours every year, TV appearences and own TV shows.
The new CD set WEIHNACHTEN is at the moment on Amazon Gemany number 1 in music.
On December, 5 follows a 140 minuites DVD WEIHNACHTEN televised on Hofburg, Vienna and I presume, that will be the Christmas TV show by Fischer, that is announced. On title list of DVD is also the duet White Christmas. I am exspecting, which way they cut Bing and Helene Fischer together.

At least 28 of the sing-along songs were alternatively backed with a Children´s Camp Chorus instead the chorus of Jack Halloran and was sold by the Camp Sing-a-Song Inc., New York. The songs sounds well and fresh and funny with this children voices backed with Bing´s warm sound, comparing the same ones of Hallorans chorus. Will there be any possibilities of new mixing of the sing-alongs, because Bing´s voice was recorded separatly?
From the cover text: "...I´d like to thank Bing Crosby, a life-time camper and the greatest singer of them all, for helping to make this record possible..."
,,Sensational record offer! $4.98 value for only §1.98- 28 great camping songs...  After listening to Bing and the Childrens sings, we feel sure you´ll agree that here is something completely new and exiting to offer your campers.... to make this album a unique and cherished souvenier of your 1961 camp season..."
The instrumental arrangements were very often with banjo, the children chorus have often additional parts. But  In The Good Old Summertime Bing´s voice is omittet and chorus sings alone with a whistling part.

Hello MusicFan, "White Christmas" is no remake of  "Holiday Inn". It has a total new story with a collection of Irving Berlin´s evergreens and few new songs composed for that film. "White Christmas" is a beautiful film  thanks to Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney, but "Holiday Inn"  is a superb movie, with the better musical score and naturally Bing´s partners Fred Astaire and Marjorie Reynolds. There are a bad German dubbing of "Holiday Inn", I believe it´s not on DVD (or VHS) available. On some German dubbings of Bing movie they cut scenes, especially musical numbers, for example on "Riding High" (with the idiotic German title "Lach und wein mit mir") the best number "Sunshine Cake" was cut, on Bing´s cameo appearance by "Let´s Make Love" they cut "Incurable Romantic" with Yves Montand, showed only handshake. (song on DVD not cut!). If possible watch the original English versions of the films, it´s more fun and authentic, although when you sometimes will not unterstand every word.

Hello Steve, I have expressed it wrong to say, that Bill/ Bing was an American singer. He played a newscaster from America in Paris. This was 1938, Bill was reporting about Germans occupiing of Czechosslowakia. I only ever wondered, why Bill was at that scene in uniform. At that time the USA hasn´t declared war to Germany.
Lindsay was much to old for that cameo. Look photos from that period. One photo of Bing and Lindsay in Europe is pictured in the newest BING magazine, page 53. This was photographed in Delft, Netherlands.
Thanks Richard for your "new" information. I must sorry, that I have only the wrong facts from older literature.
But John Scott Trotter was on the Europe trip in 1953. I have not only the photo from Delft, but also one from Paris. Bing, Lindsay and John Scott standing before a Mercedes 300 "Adenauer" limousine.
Thanks for all your responses and corrections, Steve and Richard. - Dieter.
