It's that time of year again, and I've been loving Bing's Xmas tunes
I absolutely love Bing's Christmas recordings. I think they are among the greatest ever of any artist who recorded Christmas classics and standards.
Possibly my favorite in this category is Hark The Herald Angels Sing. His voice is perfect as always, rich, emotive, deep, clear... just awe inspiring. There is no singer like him alive today.
And the backing vocals, the choir, the orchestra and the organ. Its a treasure!
Can anyone give me a link to a full discographical summary of the piece? When did he record it? Where? Who played what and who arranged it and all that?

My favorite "non White Christmas" Christmas recording that Bing made was "You're All I Want For Christmas". It is pretty forgotten now. Frankie Laine also made a decent recording of it.

Here's a belated comment on Bing's Christmas songs. I love the 'new' Bing at Christmas... with the London Symphony Orchestra CD.
