Can anyone tell me if "Bing & Satchmo" was an album unto itself or was it a compilation that was just titled as such? These two work together so beautifully.

Peter, it was recorded as a a single album mid 1960.
There are other compilations with the two taken from radio.

It was one of the best albums both of them did in the 1960s. You can find the album in it's entirety on Amazon or even You Tube for that matter. My favorite recording from the album is Dardenella. Check that one out!
