RIP: Ruth Prigozy
Bing Crosby author and Hofstra film professor Ruth Prigozy has died. She was a driving force at the 2003 conference at the university and she wrote books on many stars like Bing and Dick Haymes:

I remember meeting Ruth at Hofstra as she organised the Bing venture. She was good to me at that meeting.

I have never met Dr. Prigozy, though I did enjoy reading her outstanding biography of Dick Haymes, one of my favorite vocalists from the '40s. A highly recommendable book. R.I.P. Ruth Prigozy.

I still have the letter which Ruth and Natalie sent me in May 2002 advising me that my paper for presentation to the Hofstra Conference was accepted. It was an unforgettable experience.
