Just ordered my pre-release copy fro Amazon.com--what a pleasant surprise to find it available! I remember when "Pocket Full Of Dreams" arrived--I almost couldn't put it down. It's so crammed full of info, I still find myself re-reading it from time to time, or fact-checking some item that comes to mind. Great resource!
And, of course, many thanks to Gary Giddens.

I recently got a pre-release order of King Of Jazz in Blu-ray from Amazon, and I couldn't believe how sharp, clean and clear it is both in picture and sound compared to my previously obtained DVD. I really recommend it. However, a few of the blackout comedy bits are missing--which I don't understand as they were obviously available in the previous edition.
A few months ago I obtained a copy of the book: "King of Jazz Paul Whiteman's Technicolor Review" which is signed by its two authors. Having read it from cover to cover immediately upon receipt, I strongly recommend it to anyone seriously interested in the topic.
When I lived in Pasadena, years ago, I had a studio pass to Universal, and I went there constantly. I went all over the lot discovering evidence and information about the making of "King of Jazz". I loved it, and  I intended to write a book all about it some day. This book is what I had in mind, and it's so well done--much better than mine would have been, I'm sure. Check it out on Amazon.com

Great stuff Buck!
I just listened to the KMH Lucille Ball episode a couple of nights ago by coincidence--hadn't yet discovered your posts. Every one is a "keeper". Thanks again.

Greetings fellow Bingophiles! I'm so glad I found you, and I'm glad to be back. A few years ago I had the good fortune to enjoy exploring, reading and even participating in Steven's original B.C. Internet Museum for which I am grateful to Steven and all of you. And, of course, I want to say thanks to Richard Baker for his work in making this opportunity available to all of us.

I've been a Bing fan since I was four years old and heard Bing's records in nursery school. I heard that incomparable voice, and I was hooked. As John Wayne once said: "Nobody can sing like Bing". Today I have a very extensive Bing collection including every audio recording I could get my hands on in several iterations, the same with Bing's motion pictures starting with the Sennett shorts and his television appearances and specials. I also have some signed memorabilia.

Enough about me. Please accept my thanks to all of you in advance for your participation here, because so many of you are so much more knowlegeable than I am, and I learn so much from your many and varied contributions.
I look forward to reading, learning, and interacting with you on an ongoing basis. I guess that's it for now, best wishes to all of you,
DENNIS
