The Man Without A Country
The complete dramatisation from the Philco Show of 26 November 1947 - all 18 minutes, 42 seconds of it - has been posted at 'The Home Of Bing Crosby'
This originated in a story by Edward Everett Hale in 1863 which was turned into a poem by Jean Holloway. It is loosely based on real events and concerns Philip Nolan who was banished from the US into exile, and who spent 55 years on US ships with no mention of America permitted to him.
Nolan had supported Aaron Burr, who killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804. Burr and Hamilton were rivals for the presidency. A fullish narrative on Wikepedia here
Bing also recorded it with full cast on 13 and 16 June 1947.
