Alice Faye - Smarty

It's a pity did not make many records but she sang on radio a good bit. Here is an excellent version she does of "Smarty" - a number that Bing recorded and sang in Double Or Nothing. Alice Faye sang this on radio on August 6, 1937 with Hal Kemp & His Orchestra...

Re: Alice Faye - Smarty

I've 'discovered' Alice Faye only recently. I don't think I've seen any of her movies but have found some of her vocals on Youtube.

Some of her movies are outdated but some of them quite good. One of my favorite movies she made was 1939's Rose Of Washington Square. Alice starred as a type of a "Fanny Brice" character. She co-starred with Tyrone Power and Al Jolson.

You Tube has a lot of her movie clips too.

And her first husband was crooner Tony Martin!
