I always found this to be such a sad recording. With what happened to Lindsay Crosby and around year after he recorded this song his mother would pass away, I think of what a sad life Lindsay must have had. Lindsay had a nice voice though...

I listened to this record from Lindsay again, and if you listen to his voice - he sounded a lot like his mom Dixie Lee. He really had a nice voice - higher than the other brothers.

That's an interesting recording. Lindsay's death was reported in Australian media. Unlike his brothers, Gary and Phillip, Lindsay didn't visit Australia. Gary and Phillip performed here (at different times) and I believe they were well received although when Gary appeared on the same bill as Louis Armstrong his demand for top billing was refused by the promoter.

I saw Gary at the old Sydney Stadium.
I also met Phil at lunchtime for a beer when he was performing at the Chevron Hotel.
