I was lucky enough to go to an advance screening of Paul Thomas Anderson's new movie Licorice Pizza which is primarily set in 1975, but one scene is scored with "Accentuate the Positive."
Normally I wouldn't be reporting on this small bit of news, but in a Q&A after the screening, Anderson was asked by the moderator about how he chooses his music, and he talked a bit about looking at the pop charts of the time, but he remarked that it was also important to remember that the music of the time also included the music that had come before. He then specifically cited "how good it was to hear" Bing and the Andrews Sisters coming out of the theater speakers.
(Unrelated to Bing, but the movie was very good, to boot!)
