I know people hate Gary Crosby for the book he wrote about Bing, and rightfullyso but if Gary had the drive and ambition he could have been a good singer. Here is an album I picked up that Gary recorded in Germany with Bud Shank in 1957. It was good.

Gary could sing in tune but these three examples suggest that he relied on the Crosby name to achieve whatever success he had as a vocalist. I wonder why he chose to record 'Blue Prelude', an undistinguished song which must have been difficult for any vocalist to do much with.
