Re: Bing on "I married Joan"

Very well found, Frans. I'm surprised such an early (25th February 1953) TV show exists in such good quality.
Bing's seventh time on TV, it seems, often in these quick guest appearances. I like Joan Davis' reaction and comment.
- he wouldn't be on television - too fat for it - too slow.

That was interesting. TV didn't come to Australia until 1956 (for the Olympic Games in Melbourne) so I Married Joan didn't entertain Aussies, but Bing did. I wonder how he was convinced to appear in the show.

Re: Bing on "I married Joan"

I believe Joan did some of his radio shows too.  Pretty sure, anyway.   She was a funny lady, who's show was a basic copy of I Love Lucy.   But she was still very funny in her own style, which was different than Lucy.  She had a pretty tragic life and sad early ending too and so did her daughter.   Sad case if you ever read about her.

I read about her her some, it is very tragic what happened to her and her family.

Every time it rains, it rains pennies from heaven.
