Thanks for posting that, David. As you say, a VERY restrained accompaniment from Billy May and I love the way Bing’s “...gloomy Romeo...” becomes a “...tearful Juliet...” !
Gisele MacKenzie has always been a favourite of mine. She was the resident guest vocalist on Mario Lanza’s radio show in the early ‘50s and as well as being a great singer, she was also an extremely talented violinist. Just in case anyone hasn’t seen it, here she is duetting with Jack Benny on, “Getting To Know You”...

A great nice Canadian lady.
I have one record of her singing a French song - think it is fairer-a-jacket.
Not the correct spelling of course but think that is the name.
May have spoken to her on the phone once when I lived in Toronto.

The song is - Le Fiacre.
Just played it on YouTube.
Would have added to this but not savvy enough to do so.

Jack Benny and Gisele were great together! She was one of those singers that sort of got forgotten trying to compete with Jo Stafford, Peggy Lee, etc.
I think she is the only female I have heard singing Please.

It's always interesting (for me) to hear other singers perform songs I associate with Bing and this version of 'Please' is no exception. How did Jack Benny keep a straight face when they did that violin duet?
