Jo Stafford - Ghost Of A Chance

Jo Stafford was my favorite female vocalist, and this is one of the examples why. She recorded this song made famous by Bing late in her career around 1967. While I love Bing's version best, I love the orchestration on Jo's recording here.

Yes, that's a wonderful rendition of a classic song. There's something about Jo's voice which sets her apart from her contemporaries and I've often wondered what it is. Does she sing at a slightly lower pitch? Was she closer to a mezzo-soprano than a soprano?
