One Bing recording which I heard today (for the first time)was a duet with Connie Haynes on 'Blue Hawaii'. I presume it was from a radio program. I heard it on the weekly BBC program hosted by Howard Leader which I listen to at my leisure as it's archived. As for Jo Stafford, she's one of my favourites and I was delighted to have six of her recordings on a 3-CD set titled THE GREAT DANCE BAND SINGERS; a beaut Christmas present. Issued by Reader's Digest (Australia) it seems that they were recorded in 1967, 1969 and 1970.

Regarding the Jo Stafford, those were among Jo's last recordings. She sang a great version of Whispering Hope with her daughter in 1978, and she did a single as Darlene Edwards in the early 80s but that is it. Like Bing, Jo's voice was audio gold.
I never heard Bing and Connie Haines sing Blue Hawaii. I'll have to check that out. I remember when Connie Haines died in 2008, her mother was still alive. Her mother died two years later at the age of 108 I believe!
Right now in the car, I have been listening to more jazz - Mildred Bailey, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstring. I go through phases!

Dug out my copy of the 5 LP "Bing" biography for the birthday weekend. Playing sides 6-10 this afternoon. I'm surprised that it is mostly in VG+ to NM- shape.

A mate of mine and his wife are celebrating their Wedding Anniversary on Monday (already there) in Australia.
So I sent them YouTube of Bing’s Anniversary Waltz and Anniversary Song plus Al Jolson Anniversary Song.
Come birthday time I send them Bing’s Happy Birthday/Auld Lang Syne or just Happy Birthday.
People seem to enjoy receiving them and it keeps Bing in their minds

Dear David,
You are certainly not an annoyance. Even though I do not react much to your listings of songs you are listening to, I always read them. They're interesting and often lead me to listening to some of the songs myself.
