Bing Sings the Sinatra Songbook

I've been listening to "Bing Sings the Sinatra Songbook" and while I enjoy it, feel Bing is sort of at a disadvantage with most of the tracks being sparse tracks made for his CBS show vs. the big bold arrangements that most of these songs were cloaked in when Sinatra recorded them!

Some of the tracks are clearly strongly associated with Sinatra but others I think less so, which makes me wonder why these songs?

It seems like some other songs would have been great choices and maybe shown Bing to better advantage!

If you were going to pick the songs that made up this album or maybe a sequel which would you use?

Some songs I think would have made great selections would be:
"The Song is You"
"Autumn In New York"
"I've Got the World on a String"
"Day by Day"
"Send In The Clowns"
"This Love of Mine"

If you were going to pick the songs that made up this album or maybe a sequel which would you use?

Re: Bing Sings the Sinatra Songbook

Hi Ron,

This is actually my least favorite of the special issues the Bing Crosby Estate did. Some of the songs that were included are really "Sinatra" songs. Your extra picks were nice though.
