Fabulous news! Hope they're complete.
Unfortunately from my perspective looks like I have all of these in one form or another. But I've already placed my order - better quality, and definitely something I want to support!

Since these are specifically “Bing Crosby TV Specials” I don’t suppose there will be any “Hollywood Palace” material - presumably for copyright reasons...
Amongst the “many other” guests promised, I hope we get the medley with the wonderful Caterina Valente from 7th November 1963.
Anyone else got a “many others” wish list..?

I wonder who will get their set first? Please review it here - anyone that gets it first.

Scrolling thru the TV programmes coming up, on one station at midnight Saturday night the programme simply said 'Bing Crosby' for 30 minutes, so I clipped in to record it.
So, Sunday night I viewed the programme and it was a 30 minute promotional advertising Bing's Time-Life DVD set now available for 5 easy payments of $19.99 - 11 DVD's plus a special DVD and the book.
Now T-L cookies are popping up on this mini iPad advertising the Bing set.
I've ordered the $100.00 set.

Just checked my credit card and still no charges for the set. 7.00am west coast time Tuesday

Just checked their web and my order is on 'backlog'.
Still nothing on credit card.
Wonder if this means they have a lot of orders for this DVD or in general and may take another couple of weeks.

Just received notice that they will ship next week.

I just finished watching a half-hour informercial on Fox and I was impressed with what I heard and saw. I know that the Crosby/Sinatra Christmas show was already released (have it myself), but I did see quite a bit of footage I do not remember ever seeing before. It is 8 DVD's of Bing sprecials (23 in all) and 2 DVD's of Bing appearing on others specials and 1 DVD of special interviews with family and others, and finally a 32 page booklet of Bing's career. I cannot wait to get it.

I watched the 30 minute infomercial yesterday, and that was enough for me to scrape the funds together and "take the plunge" on this set. Like Lee, I am going into this knowing that there will be edits to these specials. The infomercial and the other press verbiage does not use the terms "complete" or "unedited" at all, so I know what I'm in for. And despite that some of the shows were previously released by HLC a few years ago, I'm okay with sending a message to Time Life and HLC that we would like more of these released.
Supposedly these are supposed to ship out later this week. I will report back in once I have my set in hand.

I’ve just watched it, and it is indeed ,”Wonderful!”
What’s more, further to my earlier post, it looks like I’ve got my wish and we’re getting the Caterina Valente medley..!
Can’t wait to see the whole thing.

Well, my card was charged last night, so I'm hoping this means that the set is getting ready to be sent out (fingers crossed).

I placed two orders - one for 5 copies - being prepared for shipping; order for 1 has been shipped

Checked via Time Life - my item did ship, and is expected to arrive on Monday. I going to make time Monday evening to at least give this set a quick look-through and review it for everyone.

Both my orders have now been shipped. Just a matter of time now.

Great news, Ron!
I watched the commercial - thanks for mentioning, Malcolm. Incidentally, it's the first 30-minute commercial I have ever watched in my lifetime, by the way.

I just received my set a few minutes ago. I figured I would take some pictures and share with the group on what the set looks like:
The "Bing Crosby: A Life in Pictures" comes in the 4-DVD set (with the blue spine). The booklet also contains a brief, two page episode guide for the 10 DVDs ("Legendary" is not included).
This set does not come in any box, just 3 DVD sets (the 4 DVD set, the 6 DVD set, and the 1 DVD "Legendary" set) in shrinkwrap.
The "Legendary" DVD now has the "Time Life" logo added to the back, but I assume the content is exactly the same as the original DVD.
Disc 1 on the 4 DVD set 1 is the exact transfer of Disc 1 from the "Bing Crosby: The Television Specials, Vol 1" (including title menus), and Disc 3 of the 4 DVD set is the exact transfer (including the Title Menus) of Disc 1 from the "Bing Crosby: The Television Specials, Vol 2".
A curiousity - Disc 9 in the series is actually an exact replica of "The Carol Burnett Show: The Lost Episodes" DVD that came out over a year ago, also on Time Life. Meaning, that is exactly what appears on the Title Menu! So, you get the full episode that Bing appears in (Show 510), but also Shows 003 and 522.

I will also post updates on these specials which have been truncated, in case anyone is curious. This is just going by my memory (and off-air copies of some items that I have):
February 27, 1972 - "Bing Crosby and Friends" (NBC) - originally an hour-long special on NBC clocks in at a little over 29 minutes on the new DVD.
December 3rd 1975 - "Merry Christmas Fred, From The Crosby’s" (CBS) - This one clocks in at a little over 33 minutes on the new DVD.
December 1st 1976 - "Bing Crosby’s White Christmas" (CBS) - This one clocks in at a little over 32 minutes on the new DVD.
October 13th 1957 - "The Edsel Show" (CBS) - Unfortunately, this is only 21 minutes of the full 65 minute broadcast. It is definitely sourced from the videotape. Out of all the shows on the DVD set, this was one that I was hoping would be the complete.
February 29, 1960 - "The Bing Show for Oldsmobile" (ABC) - This has a little over 14 minutes of the entire episode.

Time always goes for the cheapest way of doing things, I'm not shocked they use the exact same Carol Burnett Disc that had show "510" on it, I have that same Carol Burnett Lost Episodes set with 6 discs in it, one of them being with Bing.
Well, at least we're not surprised at the major amount of editing done to these Bing specials, those specials were the only thing NOT already available elsewhere. How's your report on the Bing 50th Anniv. show? I believe that was an hour and a 1/2 originally (not sure of that) how much of that remains still on the Time Life set?
Lee, the 50th only clocks in around a little over 45 minutes. I haven't had time yet to do a thorough review to determine *what* was cut, though!
