Yesterday--January 1, 2015--Pam and I took a drive with Bing, that is a few Crosby CDs to play in the car CD player. We started with SEASONS, and consequently, by the second track were listening to "On the Very First Day of the Year" on the very first day of the year! While I've listend to the CD, and my LP of the album too, many times, I don't think I have listened to that song on its namesake day before. That was fun, and not only that, a much more serious experience than I was expecting. The song really does lead you to consider what the new year might offer in a particular way which you might not have done otherwise. Did anyone else listen to it yesterday? If you didn't, I'd like to recommend that you pencil it into your calendar to try it next year.

Funny thing is that I actually listened to it too!
It is a much better recording than I remember it being...

And of course, from 'Holiday Inn', 'Let's Start The New Year Right'.

Weather wise, as far as I'm concerned is 'June in January'. Just now in the Pacific Northwest about 36oF. In Sydney about 90oF.
