"I just finished watching the new PBS American Masters special on Bing. Wow. Outstanding in every way. No stone was left unturned; the family even confronts "the book" and Gary Crosby's accusations head on and in an extraordinarily forthright manner (I hope when the show airs nationally that Mary's one word expletive description of Gary is left intact). Dictabelt recordings Bing made for his secretary to type into letter form reveal how much he gave and tried to do for his sons, along with his rather critical and unsatisfactory opinion of the film "White Christmas". Phenomenal! Be sure to catch it when it premieres on PBS stations across the country December 2nd."

Sounds very good indeed. I was always surprised that the family did not confront Gary's book at the time. Presumably they did not want to give it more publicity. I once got Phillip Crosby to issue a press release condemning the book but more could have been done.
 

Right now would be the PERFECT time for the 2nd Giddins book.
