It is reported that Dorothy McGuire of the McGuire Sisters singing trio has died.
The connection with Bing?
Bing recorded several tracks for Frank Sinatra's Reprise Records on the Reprise Repertory Theatre series for which the sisters also recorded some tracks -
''Dites-moi'' from South Pacific
''The Begat'' from Finian's Rainbow
''A Bushel And A Peck'' from Guys And Dolls.
So far as I can trace they never actually performed with Bing.
The Wiki entry is quite comprehensive -
Later addition -
I see that David Lobosco, on his ''A Trip Down Memory Lane'' blog has also posted an item about this -

The McGuire Sisters did appear on the variety shows of Perry Como and Dean Martin though. I think Dorothy, the middle one, was the quiet of the three. I like them and collect their music, but I much prefer the Boswell Sisters and Andrew Sisters.
They also recorded a few Bing numbers - like Mississippi Mudd and I'll Be Seeing you. When I get home I'll try to compile a better list. My favorite number by them was a nostalgic novelty song "Do You Remember When".
Any other fans out there?

I've not heard many of their recordings but several years ago I was given a DVD of a concert sponsored by the US Public Broadcasting 'system' which was held in a theatre of a US university (possibly around the turn of the century) and the performers were 'old timers' including the McGuire Sisters. It was a splendid show and the sisters looked fantastic and sang well. If I recall correctly, one of the comperes was Pat Boone. Unfortunately, I lent the DVD to a friend and haven't seen it since.
