Noel Coward can be an acquired taste, but I enjoy him. He usually sang his own songs, but here is his cover of the 1934 Bing hit. Noel recorded his version on October 29, 1934...

To me, that sounds extremely old-fashioned, even for 1934.

Ironically i was recently on holiday in Ireland in Dublin and went with my sister and nephew on a public tour of the prison where the Irish rebels were held and the tour guide said that films were made there from the 1960s onward and one of those films was "The Italian Job" Noel Coward's prison scenes must have been filmed there as for "Love In Bloom" it shows that Sir Noel was a good interpreter of other writers lyrics although i much prefer Bing's version of the song , incidentally Miriam Hopkins who co starred with Bing in rge film the song was from "She Done Him Wrong" was in the film version of Sir Noel's Play "Design For Living" with Fredric March and Gary Cooper.
