Hello! I´ve got my copy of Rarirties from the Hollywood Studios directly by SEPIA Records yesterday. Again a great CD-set by SEPIA in the best possible sound quality of these really rare (partly unknown) tracks from the early 30th to the late 50th. The major part are recordings from the 30th with Bing in prime voice and higher tones. Topic are Bing´s films. CD #1 contains recordings that were produced by, or in conjunction with, the film Studio´s Publicity and Advertising Departments, taken from original recordings by or for the film studios with many alternative material. CD #2 contains original film recordings (partly unused or cut in the later film). Unknown to me was Our Last Hawaiian Moon -a demo-tape made by Bing on a Honolulu vacation with Dixie in 1936. Some of the many fine rarities are Empty Saddles without echoing or Blue Moon with piano accapointment- an unused track for Say One For Me. Aso unused in Road to Bali You´ve Been Looking Thru My Dreams. Very informative liner notes by John Newton. A wonderfull CD-packages for every Bing fan- also for fans which owns a great collection. Thanks SEPIA!

I received my copy of the cd a few days back and it’s a wonderful addition to the collection. I’m amazed that there are still treasures being found and distributed after all this time. Let’s hope they keep coming. I wish there were more recordings of his Woodbury Soap radio programs. There was a cd released a few years ago with a range of songs from the broadcasts which makes me wonder if the full broadcasts were recorded. Anyway always a joy to hear new material from the 30s and 40s.
