Swaps and Sales » More Jimmie Fidler Bing Crosby Content Letters » 01/9/2015 2:43 am |
Another 1933 letter from legendary Hollywood gossip columnist Jimmie Fidler with some great Bing Crosby proud papa/deep sea fishing enthusiast content. By the way, the 1933 Jimmie Fidler letter in which he relates his trip to the circus with Bing Crosby, Dixie Lee, Ken Murray, Sue Carol, Lew Ayres, et al. garnered 11 bids at eBay and sold for $40.
"...Bing came rushing into the office the other morning to show me pictures of the marlin shark he caught on his fishing trip. He's been after one for three years, and this one he at last landed weighed 188 pounds. Between that fish and the baby, Bing is a maniac..."

Bing Crosby sure pops up in several letters I have up for auction at eBay written by the likes of actress/singer Lois January and Hollywood gossip columnist Jimmie Fidler. I even have some material from Bing's sister-in-law, singer/actress Florence George. They can be found at the links below. The 1933 Jimmie Fidler letter mentioning Bing at the circus is especially interesting and will bring a smile. Enjoy...Thanks.

Currently up for auction at eBay are two Bing Crosby items: a 1930s handwritten tribute to fellow crooner Rudy Vallee with two original photos and a 1937 letter from Larry Crosby, Bing's eldest brother and long-time publicity director. The links are below:
Incidentally, the 1932 unsigned Bing Crosby Christmas card in envelope sold on eBay for $14.99, which I consider a bargain.
Swaps and Sales » Bing Crosby 1932 Christmas Card in Mailing Envelope » 26/5/2014 5:42 pm |
I currently have for sale a 1932 Bing Crosby Christmas card in its original mailing envelope. It came from the estate of songwriter Charles "Chaw" Mank Jr. (1902-1985). Images can be viewed via the link below. I know Bing designed some of his early Christmas cards, but have other members encountered any Bing Christmas cards? Bing and Christmas naturally go together...

I have a handwritten note from Bing on an autograph album page in which he praises contemporary Rudy Vallee. It's from the 1930s.
