I don’t know whether this has been flagged up elsewhere, but I’ve just spotted that the British Film Institute (BFI) on London’s South Bank is showing “White Christmas” in their “Musicals” season on the big screen at 19:30 on Sunday 15th, 20:15 on Saturday 21st and 14:30 on Monday 23rd December.
My Christmas treat to myself is the 20:15 screening on the 21st preceded by a screening at 17:45 of the 1936 version of “Showboat” with Allan Jones, Irene Dunne and Paul Robeson..!

The 1930s version of Showboat is so much better than the 1950's version. It was so great to see Helen Morgan on film!

In Australia our White Christmas will probably still be the smoke from the huge amount of bush fires in the country. Came through some burnt areas on Wednesday (highway finally opened) with smoke drifting through the ashes.
