'The Chronological Bing Crosby' complete 51-CD set.

Readers of the latest issue of 'Bing' magazine, produced by the International Club Crosby (ICC) will be aware of the following, but since not all contributors to this site are members of the ICC, I thought I would repeat the information here.

I am currently the custodian of a Crosby collection belonging to a recently-deceased stalwart of the ICC here in the UK, Len Livett. The collection contains two complete 51-CD sets of 'The Chronological Bing Crosby' on the Jonzo label, each in superb condition. The sets have initially been offered for sale to ICC members, but it would appear that the majority of members already have these wonderful CDs in their collections. I have therefore decided to advertise them on Crosby Fan World before listing them to an even wider audience via eBay.

If anyone is interested, please message me privately and I will provide full details. (As per CFW guidelines, details will not be discussed openly on the main board.)

Many thanks
Jeremy Rose

Don't want to be disrespectful but sad that the deceased person had two complete copies in his possession in the first place when another Bing fan could have had a complete set , they are getting scarcer now i only managed to get a complete used set on E Bay around Christmas 2023 before the prices went up afterwards #, hopefully whoever gets those sets will get them while they still have time left to appreciate great pop music from a true legend.

Re: 'The Chronological Bing Crosby' complete 51-CD set.

The late Len Livett had a home in the UK and also he spent a lot of time at another property in France. So keen was he about Bing that he tried to duplicate his collection so that he could play his collection in both locations. This would have been an expensive exercise for him as he bought the Chronological CDs as they came out. He was not depriving others of the CDs, rather he was supporting John McNicolas' superb effort in releasing all of Bing's recordings.

Sorry i didn't know the full facts that would make sense as he had two homes in the UK and France that would make sense actually i own the complete Beatles recordings both in Mono and Stereo on CD because in quite a few cases they were different takes and mixes used on certain albums.

Re: 'The Chronological Bing Crosby' complete 51-CD set.

Oh i should also add that after one of my Bing cassettes nearly got chewed up by my old tape deck, i decided to replace i ordered  used cd copies as the two Pickwick releases licensed from MCA  in question "Bing Sings The Great Songs" and "More Great Songs" had the best mastering of his music on CD along with the two "Memories" CDs issued in the late 1990s, i found the mastering of "The Best Of Bing" 2 CD set from 1996 not as good for some reason.
