Re: Australian Bing Fan sticks with black discs

That record that Ashley is holding is either "Buy a Bond" or "Buy Another Bond Today".
I had both those which were given to me by the lady that ran the record department at Hoyts Theatres in Sydney, where I worked from 1949 to 1957. Hoyts never released any Paramount films as they had their own theatre in Sydney - The Prionce Edward (long gone).
I was in the advertising department and my boss was Cliff Holt, brother to later Prime Minister, Harold Holt.
Both died within 9 months of one another. Cliff in March and Harold in December in that tragic disappearance.

Re: Australian Bing Fan sticks with black discs

A new and used music store in a neighboring town, having quit carrying used vinyl records several years ago now has vinyl records again...except most of them are new rock releases and re-releases that cost $15-30.    Not as many used LPs coming into the nearest charity stores, however, compared to only a few years ago.
