Thank you Malcolm. I understand that there has been some difficulty with the link for some and have taken the liberty of embedding it into Malcolm's message in a different way. I hope it now works for all.

You wait ages for a Bing tribute and then three come along at once!
Greg Van Beek broadcast a special program about Bing last Saturday and here's what he says about it:
"If you missed the GREAT BBC radio special from 1976 saluting Bing's 50 years as a recording artist, hosted by Bob Hope with a score of guest stars (heard via interview clips) that aired on NRT this past Saturday, have no fear, you can listen to it here: "
Also ICC member Lorne Harasen of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada tells me that a two hour Crosby show will run this coming Friday from 1PM to 3PM CST on 91.3 CJTR Regina Community Radio. You can listen live at Lorne has put this show together and he comments:
"...The main thing is that it is a couple of hours of Bing, Rosemary and the two of them performing together. The point is that you can’t find a radio station in this area where you would find this material and that is the case for countless small and middle markets. That is disappointing and amazing. Perhaps larger centres such as New York or Toronto where you can “specialize” but not in most cases where you are restricted to country or various types of rock. I have wanted to do this for a long time and I’m pleased that CJTR has come through."

With my slow internet connection it took about 3 hours yesterday to download Greg's rebroadcast of the 1976 BBC tribute to Bing. I just listened to it. A delightful level of depth provided about several recordings over the years. Good to hear Greg's voice, too, as the voices of Bing fan pals found over the past few years are quite a mystery to me. Ironic, since we gather online to celebrate a man with a remarkable voice, among other notable talents.
