Anyone ever wondered whether the Chesterfield show of March 28th 1951 with Judy Garland contains the germ of an idea that became ''Fancy Meeting You Here'' seven years later?
Judy is just off for a tour of Europe. Bing imparts some knowledge and they jointly tackle ''Limehouse Blues''. ''April In Paris'', and ''Isle Of Capri'' while Bing goes solo on ''Any Town Is Paris When You're Young''.

Just listening to Anne Hopper on BBC Cumbria (27/12/14) and Bing was No.1 male vocalist again.
No doubt because of Malcolm, Bert and several others.
Keep the requests rolling in.
Happy twenty fifteen and Bing at the top again.

Anne hosts a good programme. She insists her remit covers 1930 to 1959 and I have had a little e-mail "conversation" with her about this, pointing out that the stars and styles of that era did survive beyond it.
Her latest show did include some of Bing's later items. Bing frequently has a good showing but there is much else of interest for those who feel an attachment to the popular music of that era.
