Bendigo is a large provincial city north of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. About 150 years ago it became famous for a 'gold rush' but this year its fame spread across the nation when its Art Gallery presented a Grace Kelly exhibition, on loan from an overseas gallery, from Monaco I think. It featured clothing and jewellery which Kelly had worn (including a replica of her wedding dress) and posters which publicised many of her movies. Needless to say, HIGH SOCIETY was featured so there was some welcome indirect publicity of Bing. The exhibition closed in June after a three-month run and attendances were phemomenal, such that the print run of catalogues was sold out before the exhibition closed and entry tickets for many sessions became unavailable.
