Diamond Jubilee Concert
Watching the concert on Monday night made me realise just how good Bing was singing at an open-air concert in Norway at the age of 74. On Monday, I thought something was wrong with the sound system until Tom Jones came on and demonstrated that there wasn't! Cliff Richard, Cheryl Cole, Annie Lennox and Elton John were particularly disappointing and Paul McCartney was so bad that it reminded me of the King's New Clothes story. No one dares say that he's terrible now. When Bing sang at the concert in Norway in 1977 he wasn't at his best but he was still better than most of the stars on view on Monday. The fireworks were good though.
