Hello again 

I’ve now had a positive response from David so, as promised, here is my proposal for the continuation of the Crosby Fan World resource. 

Obviously, I would like to make this as straightforward as possible, but there are a couple of points that need to be clarified in order to avoid any possible confusion in the future. Most people who responded positively to John Mumm’s recent poll expressed a preference for an annual contribution. At current Boardhost rates, 12 months access costs $170/£125.  It may well be that there are people in the CFW community who would be willing to contribute but who didn’t vote in the poll, so in order to simplify matters I am proposing an annual donation of £15 sterling per donor.  

This should be transferred to my PayPal account at jeremyrose45@hotmail.com by Monday 5th October, two weeks before the expiry of the current access period. I will purchase a further year’s access on Tuesday 6th October. If the contributions received don’t fully cover the cost of a year’s access, I will make up the shortfall. If they exceed the annual cost, I will purchase extra access accordingly and post details on CFW. In any event, there will be at least a year’s further access from October 6th. When October 2027 rolls around, I will post again regarding ongoing renewal. 

Over the years I have received several transfers of funds from overseas via PayPal and it’s important that you use the ‘Friends and Family’ option when transferring funds in order to avoid any transaction charges. PayPal deals with the conversion from your own currency if it’s not £ sterling. (This does mean that you’re stuck with PayPal’s conversion rates, but given the small sum involved, I hope this won’t be an obstacle.) 

I will, of course, personally acknowledge all receipts of funds but other than that, all information will be strictly confidential. If you wish to take up the option of acknowledgement as a donor within the Board itself, David will deal with that on an individual basis. 

I hope that the above proposal will be acceptable to the general CFW community, but it goes without saying that if anyone has any further suggestions or comments, please feel free to contact me - either directly or via the board - and I will respond. 

Although I freely admit that I myself have been woefully absent from CFW in recent months, I do consult it on a daily basis. It’s a wonderful resource on many different levels of ‘Crosbyana’ and I sincerely hope that as many people as possible - regardless of whether or not you feel able to donate - will continue benefiting from it for as long as possible.
