Nat King Cole - The Magic Window

Bing introduced the song "The Magic Window" in the 1953 drama Little Boy Lost. Bing of course recorded it for Decca as well. I always liked the song but it was never a hit. I just discovered that Nat King Cole recorded it for Capitol on January 20, 1953. Bing's version is best, but Nat King Cole is worth listening to...

It's a pleasant but undistinguished song isn't it. I liked Nat 'King' Cole's version, which was new to me and couldn't help but notice one of the photos of him smoking as he played what I assume was an organ.

I agree with you. Nat King Cole almost never made a bad recording, and I might like his version more if I did not know the Bing Crosby version already. Hard to surpass Bing - even Nat King Cole!
