Perry Como's idol was Bing, and throughout his career Perry recorded a lot of Crosby songs. "Black Moonlight" is vintage 1930s Bing that Perry recorded on December 15, 1950 for RCA Records...

Bing's version is more dramatic and I believe better suited to the lyrics. T thought the accompaniment on Perry's recording sometimes overwhelmed the vocal.

I like Perry Como but some of his records seem a little bit lacking something. I like this song so I like Perry's version but it is no where as good as Bing's version.
