Quality control on the 'Shop' section of BingCrosby.com

I was visiting the 'Shop' section of the BingCrosby.com website earlier today, and noticed something quite odd about the listing for the 'Christmas with Bing' compilation CD released in 2013 (see https://bingcrosby.com/product/christmas-with-bing).

It appears that whoever posted the track listing details for the CD simply copied and pasted the information from some online message board or forum. It looks as if listener comments are listed in brackets after some of the songs. Most jarring is the following comment after the song 'Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy':

("Can't stand this one, it's everywhere".)

LOL. Not exactly the type of information you want to see on the Shop section of an official artist's website. Not sure how this slipped by the BingCrosby.com website editors.

Re: Quality control on the 'Shop' section of BingCrosby.com

You must be looking at a different Bing Crosby Home page than I can find.  (Your link didn't work)  but if you're referring to BingCrosby.com/home when you go there "Christmas With Bing" isn't even listed there now (a year or 2 ago it was but it's not there anymore).   It is available on Amazon however and THAT'S where you must have read this superlative review of the "Christmas With Bing" CD.  How do I know, because I'm the ever wonderful "Mr. Perfect" reviewer you see on Amazon and I must say I love Mr. Perfect's opinions.   I gave a very good review of this (at the time I wrote it) new Bing Christmas CD.   Many people didn't know what was even on this CD as the songs were not shown, so I supplied all that information in addition to my thoughts on each song.

And the more the years go by the more I hate that Bowie//Bing song, I skip it as fast as it starts playing nowadays.

As for the ever wonderful bingcrosby.com website's "Shop" section, I couldn't believe my eyes just now when checking to find the CD you mentioned, couldn't believe it when I saw that the Bing CD "Christmas Sessions" is actually on sale there for $70, $70!!!!!!!    Are they nuts?   I bought this CD at Walmart back in 2013 for $2.00!!

Re: Quality control on the 'Shop' section of BingCrosby.com

No - I actually did see it on the 'Shop' section of the BingCrosby.com website earlier today, but as you have pointed out, the listing seems to have been pulled down (which is a good thing, and probably not a coincidence).

Here's an archived webpage from this past summer, which shows the listing I saw earlier today:
https://bingcrosby.com/product/christmas-with-bing">http://web.archive.org/web/20190726152517/https://bingcrosby.com/product/christmas-with-bing

Since you mentioned Amazon, I just did a search on amazon.com for this CD, and sure enough, there was your review from December 16, 2013. Interesting that BingCrosby.com would choose to copy a portion of a fan's review and paste it on their website (without editing, I might add) as part of the product description.

You are right about some of those prices. Crazy! $60 for the Bing in Dixieland CD!

Re: Quality control on the 'Shop' section of BingCrosby.com

Guess just shows the old Bing website USED to have good taste when they posted my review.  By the way, I never even knew they had it posted there, I never saw it, I knew it was on Amazon but that was news to me when you said you saw it on their website.  Good show Bing folk, but bad show for taking the CD off all together.   Yep,  that's right, I paid $2 for that Christmas Sessions CD at Walmart in 2013.  My how inflation has hit the good old Bing site.
