Bing got a brief mention on the long-running UK BBC quiz show, “University Challenge” tonight. The quiz-master quoted the first two lines of the refrain of “Learn To Croon” and asked the (admittedly very young) contestants which popular crooner had introduced the song. After some conferring, they came up with “Frank Sinatra”.

Gee, I'm impressed that the Quiz Master (or the writer) new of the song. Bing's 13 June 1933 recording of 'Learn To Croon' was not released in Australia until March 1934. The label on the Columbia record had the master number B793 impressed on the disc but the label shows B779 which was the master number of the 9 June recording.
