Digital Denial Of Service

Earlier today (20th January) this board was inaccessible for some hours.
I have received an apology from the hosting service, Boardhost.com, who say -

"Earlier, we were informed by our provider that someone launched a DDoS attack against the forum server, which affected connectivity. A DDoS is an attempt to overload the server with traffic from multiple external sources in order to cause intentional disruption.  Our provider worked hard to mitigate the attack and it appears to be fully resolved at this time.  We are very sorry for any inconvenience."

I don't think we were the specific target - it was more general to the host, though we have recently had an unusual number of attempts to log on by people from the far east and eastern Europe, using suspicious email addresses and in most instances very odd ids.

Re: Digital Denial Of Service

Is it North Korea attacking us now?

Re: Digital Denial Of Service

The Allies broadcasted Bing Crosby and Glen Miller to the oppressed Axis troops to weaken their resolve.  Perhaps we should to the same thing to the North Koreans.
