Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.
Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.
Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.
BUT P.S. I don't really want to say much about White Christmases because here in the UK at least we've had too much of the white stuff.
And to top it all I've been cut off, together with a few of my neighbours, from all electronic communications for two days. Something to do with all that white matter getting into a telephone distribution centre.
Nonetheless - What is Christmas with no snow
No white Christmas with no snow
Snow
There's an interesting take on the subject from the UK's Bristol Evening Post
complete with a (rather poor) attempt at a new topical lyric
I'm dreading a white Christmas
Just like the ones that we now know
Where gridlocked motorways glisten,
and children grizzle
after days of waiting at Heathrow
I'm dreading a white Christmas
With every Christmas card that doesn't arrive
May you eventually take off on your flight
And may all your Christmases not be white
BUT LET'S LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE AND SEE
Snow, those glist'ning houses that seem to be built of snow
Snow, oh, to see a mountain covered with a quilt of snow-
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
