Hi Carmela
Speaking only for myself, I can certainly assure you that you are by no means the oldest one here..!

Hello again Carmela

You can do a bit of research for the answer. I was born on the same night that the original US production of 'My Fair Lady', starring Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews, opened at the Mark Hellinger Theatre on Broadway. (I'm pretty sure there's no connection between the two events..!)

Re: How old are you Bing Fans here?

Michael, Are you really 17? You must be the youngest. Amazing. Malcolm, Lol! You don't look 82.  And yes, you win the prize. And I bet if Bing's horses were alive you would beat them in a race. Lol! A little humor. I know Bing had a few good horses and some winners but everyone especially Bob Hope always joked about Bing's slow horses. Well, I hope we all live as long as Bob Hope.

Re: How old are you Bing Fans here?

I'm fifty-five - fifty-six on the fourth of June, which is beautifully shared with my fabulous father who will turn eighty-one the same day. Congratulations to Michael who posed the question and for being our youngest, along with Modern Bing Fan and Pantelis bringing up the rear. Congrats, too to Malcolm and special belated ninetieth Bing-Birthday Bongs to Graham for being (if I'm correct) our two more than worthy seniors. A nod to Jeremy, too for his birthday sharing with "My Fair Lady" - surely the greatest musical of all time?

All this congratulating now puts me in the mood for some Champagne. Did Bing ever record a song with "Champagne" or "Birthday" in the lyrics? I know he recorded some songs from that other Lerner and Lowe classic, "Gigi" which could get us somewhere - and Astaire sang about "Washington's Birthday" in "Holiday Inn". If so and once I'm informed, I'll slap it on to revolve, warm up my amplifier, pop open a bottle, nose tickle some bubbles and drink to all our continued "Bing" solidarity.

From the top of my head, Bing made a Decca recording of  Happy Birthday/Auld Langh Syne, with Victor Young and his orchestra and Ken Darby Singers. For Champagne the only one that I came up with is Bing Crosby/Frank Sinatra legendary High Society duet, Well Did You Evah? Cole Porter did mentioned in the lyrics something like, "This French Champagne -domestic- so good for the brain". When I was just starting to to be a Crosby enthusiast I was google searching Bing Crosby and a word out of my head to discover new songs and it always worked.
