I don't know whether to place this in the film, TV or any other category. It's all new and strange to me.
It is announced that hologram images of Whitney Houston are to go on tour. The company concerned are said to be "also developing shows with the estates of Patsy Cline, Buddy Holly and Bing Crosby."

I can't quite imagine what is implied. Anyone with knowledge or experience or who has witnessed such images?
Are they realistic and belevable and what is the difference as compared for example with 3D video? And how could such images be created out of, at best, old film and TV images made in two dimensions?
