    Australian member David Duncan has just started his video series on Bing and his film career. Series 1 covers the 1930’s and each episode will look at a year.     This is a wonderful series. East Side of Heaven is an entertaining film and one of the cast would be downcast if he was still alive because Australia is thrashing England in the current Ashes test cricket series. I'm referring to C Aubrey Smith who captained England in a test match in South Africa in 1888-1899.

    These programmes are outstanding! I have only just viewed the first two and am about to watch the third. David's professionally relaxed and apealing on screen presence, resonant voice, complete clarity of diction and pitch perfect, smooth presenting style make them such a pleasure to watch. 

    Elegantly and beautifully crafted, these well archive-sourced episodes demonstrate a very high standard of production. The unhurried pace and style of their unfussy, non-intrusive editing and camera work makes such a refreshing and welcome change. Bing and his 'thirties films are given the oxygen to breathe and to naturally convey those impeccably researched and hugely informative scripts. A real treat!
