How dare Rudy Vallee tries to sing Bing! He even mentions "The Big Broadcast" on this record - but never mentions Bing! Rudy recorded this on October 27, 1932. He was no Bing but still an interesting recording...

It was the best thing I bought in 2020!

Every year has it's share of celebrity deaths, and unfortunately 2020 is no different. In 1977 we still had a lot of the great legends among us, but as we pass 2020 the great stars are dwindling down. For my family, I look at the positives we had in 2020, and I just hope and pray that people that were affected by the pandemic and fires in 2020 will have a better 2021.

The only thing that is sadly certain in 2021 is we will probably lose more of the great stars and entertainers that were a part of our lives for so long. Luckily for us, we have their work behind to continue to enjoy.

TCM rarely plays Bing because they only own the rights to Warner Brothers/MGM movies. Luckily I almost all of Bing's movies on DVD so I don't have to wait for the channels to show them.

2020 was a year like no other, but I like to try to pick out the positives. When we all were home together, my wife and I really got quality time with the children. During normal times, we would not have seen them as much. My wife and I took the time to exercise more and lose weight, and financially we have never been better. We didn't go on a vacation so we saved money there!

I know there's are a lot of people who was truly affected in tragic ways by the pandemic, and I hope those less fortunate will have a good start to 2021. I hope each and every one of you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and better times will be in our future!

May your days be merry and bright, and may all your Christmases be white...

Netflix is not known for showing classic movies, but they are showing White Christmas currently!

I put the movie on every night as I am falling asleep to my wife's dismay!

Nice to see Bing on Netflix!

Thank you very much David.  It's very very encouraging to hear from you.

Nobody posts the great Bing Crosby material as well as you, that's something I haven't done.   We all do what we do best and you're the best at finding and posting great and unusual Bing stuff that folks may not have heard before, esp. new fans.  That's a service.

I may try to join the podcast world sooner than later. You Tube is pushing for more original contact (idiots doing stunts, etc) than posting recordings so I am probably going to slower move from You Tube to completely to the Internet Archive.

That's a beaut selection. Coincidentally, I opened my radio program on Monday with 'A Couple of Song and Dance Men' and when I addressed a local Probus Club last week I played Bing and Bob singing 'Put It There Pal' with great lyrics (which i introduced by explaining some of the supposed ad libs such as 'great for selling cheese' and 'Colonna's big moustache'.

Can I listen to your radio program online? I'd love to hear it.

Sounds great!

I'm not really isolating, but my work is having us work from home. So my "man cave" is also my "office" so I can listen or watch Bing Crosby all day. I have been really rediscovering a lot of the Bing LPs I haven't played in years.

Sad to report that the beautiful Rhonda Fleming died. As most of you know, she starred with Bing in 1949's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court...

Holiday Inn I think had a better story line. My kids (they are 7 and 10) like Holiday Inn much more than White Christmas - the colorized version of Holiday Inn they like the best.

Either way, good luck!

The Bing ‘n’ Basie album isn’t Bing or Basie’s greatest work, but I find it to be enjoyable with, in my opinion, some of Bing’s best contemporary songs.

I'm with you. I really like the album but I don't play it nearly enough. Bing and Count Basie was in fine form for it.

Some really good moments on the album.

I don't know if any album is "the worst" Bing album for me. Even albums like Thoroughly Modern Bing and Hey Jude, Hey Bing each had great tracks and bad tracks on them. I would love to see more radio songs put out on CD. I pretty much have 99% of Bing's commercial recordings.

Does anyone know if the Project Records recordings from the 1960s that weren't released on LP are still in existance? I believe some of them haven't been released.
