Holiday Inn

Friday night (last night) on P S/Tv  out of Seattle I watched stage production of Noel Coward's 'Present Laughter' filmed in New York.
After that the station said that end of November will be 'Holiday Inn' a stage production filmed in New York.
This will be an interesting exercise to see who is playing the Bing part.

If this is the 2016/7 Broadway production (which I think is most likely) the lead four cast members are
Corbin Bleu playing "Ted Hanover" (Fred Astaire in original film)
Bryce Pinkham playing "Jim Hardy" (Bing Crosby)
Lora Lee Gayer playing "Linda Mason" (Marjorie Reynolds)
Megan Sikora playing  "Lila Dixon" (Virginia Dale)

The show has been streamed live to several venues in the US, and is now available on DVD.
I would imagine that the DVD might have been compiled from the best takes of several shows made during the streaming sessions.
The film version with Bing and Fred has just been re-issued on Blu Ray in a "75th Anniversay Edition" with the Broadway show version as an extra.

An audio version has also been issued on CD.
This link takes you to the theatre details.

Re: Holiday Inn

I haven't seen the Hol. Inn play but I have seen many clips of it on You Tube and from everything I've seen it appears they are NOT following the film plot or even the film's music.   They sing songs that did not appear in Hol. Inn and it looks like they are concentrating on the Fred Astaire character rather than the Bing character.  It just looks very much changed from the film.  I could be wrong, but from what I've seen on You Tube it looks like another play or story all together.
