Ron Moody

Ron Moody, who appeared in multiple roles in Bing's very last TV show "Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas" has died at the age of 91.

In the show he played Charles Dickens and several of Dickens' characters.

Sad news about Ron Moody...

I'm away from home at the moment and so can't check the relevant DVD, but didn't Ron Moody also play the policeman who "arrests" Bing for busking in the street in the 1961 TV special Bing made in London..?

Jeremy, you are perfectly correct. December 1961. As you say, Bing was singing in the street without a licence.

What a few days it has been - James Last, Ron Moody and Christopher Lee.
I saw Chris at Bing's Pineapple golf tournament at Turnberry in 1975. I caddied for Nathaniel.
Anyway, I had just said hello to South African golfer Bobby Locke being the first time I had ever spoken to him.
Christopher happen to along and Bobby said to him "meet a friend of mine from Australia".
