THE VOICE OF CHRISTMAS
With the holidays already upon us and very cold weather mercilessly hitting the U.S., it's time for Bing's soothing voice to begin crooning those timeless Christmas songs of his. At least at our place they play all Christmas long, together with the seasonal records of other great singers from Bing's era. For that reason, the new entry in my blog Bing Crosby on CD is a republication of the portion related to Bing from a longer article on the Christmas recordings of Bing, Frank, and Dick Haymes. It's essentially a brief review of The Voice of Christmas, the most complete collection of his Decca Christmas sides currently available, a 2-CD set that shouldn't be missing on anyone's shelf.
