Dick Haymes - Empty Saddles

Dick Haymes, a great crooner in his own right, would have turned 100 this year. I was looking through radio remotes of his, and I discovered his version of the Bing standard Empty Saddles from 1950. I am always interested in hearing covers of Bing's songs so I thought you all might be interested. Dick Haymes is backed by Victor Young, who also worked with Bing...

Re: Dick Haymes - Empty Saddles

I liked Dick and his renditions of It Might As Well Be Spring; The More I see You, Laura and some others. I have a couple of his CD's back in the landscape of Aus.

Re: Dick Haymes - Empty Saddles

Dick Haymes is the most underrated crooner of the 40s.  His Christmas recordings are remarkable and almost as frequently played as Bings at my house.  It’s too bad he didn’t catch the a Christmas wave to continue with that into the 60s and 70s like Bing and Perry Como
